I have a customer that wants a double neck acoustic guitar built...six string/ bouzouki....Any one have a suggestion on where I could buy a set of plans? I could, and will maybe have to , use a larger body guitar and use a pinless bridge...The bracing is my biggest concern...Larry |

No plans, but there are photos of two different bracing solutions for two 6 string/12 string acoustics here: http://www.luthiersforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10101&t=15669&hilit=double+neck+bracing Maybe there are some leads for more info in the thread. |

Thank you very much... That is exactly what I am looking for..No disrespect to Martin Edwards but I like the bracing on Tony Carols guitar.. |

To be fair, aesthetically anyway, Martin's photo was taken before the braces were fully carved. What's interesting to me is the big difference in the bridges relative to the x-braces. On Tony's guitar both bridges are captured between the x-braces while on Martin's the two bridges are on opposite sides of the x-brace joint. Tony mentioned that tuning one of the necks on his guitar messes up the tuning on the other neck. I wonder if that happens on Martin's guitar with the bridges separated like that. |

Yes, I read that there was more finger braces to be installed and Im sure that it looked great when it was finished...I'm guessing that tuning would be a problem on both guitars...I would love to know how both these guitars held up over time... |
