Ok, doofus question, what is the difference between steel string and nylon string tuners for slot head? Or is there any? Are they interchangeable? Thanks B |

Nylon string tuners generally have larger barrels. That is due to the fact that they stretch a lot more than steel strings. |

The old guitars designed for gut strings often had smaller rollers. Gut doesn't stretch as much as nylon, but more than steel. |

Classical guitar tuners have softer larger rollers, treble steel strings eat them up. The treble classical strings stretch and stretch the small diameter steel string rollers would be a pain tuning wise. |
