Having some trouble putting together the server bill which has come due. It's rather costly at 870.00. THX JP. Donation -100 770.00 I tried to dump some of my prize toneswoods but no luck. If youd like to help, please send what ever you like to Lance@kragenbrinkguitars.com We used to have many more sponsors that kept me in the Black most the time. Things are a little different now and quite often I'm pulling from the family kitty to cover. Please consider giving what you feel comfortable with, and we'll see how this goes. Thanks so much! Why so expensive? Just bandwidth from photos? How about disabling the attachment feature? We can still upload photos to photobucket and the like and use img tags to link them. It's a pain, but not as much of a pain as paying a bill like that every month. Photos in old threads will still be racking up the gigabytes, but after a while all the active threads should be attachment-free. |

I did the same with PayPal and it worked. When I copy & paste to send an email or pm, then I get a bounce. Probably need a 9 year old to take a look at my iPad . |

Let me scrounge around tomorow and see what I can do. I've never helped out with stuff like Classifieds subscriptions, so I'm due. If it's going to be a recurring structural problem, we should have a discussion about it. |

Yeah, I can't handle the temptation of the Classifieds. A direct donation instead is better for me. PayPal worked fine for me. Let us know where you are on this. If you are still short, I can check the under the car seats and couch cushions. StephenW |

Attachments can only be viewed on this site and only if you're logged in, so I've been thinking about switching to external hosting anyway so I can link to my build threads from other forums and have people able to see the pictures without signing up. Or sometimes I just want to link one picture from another forum, so I'll have to go upload that to photobucket even though it's already on this forum. But because of the members-only thing, I'm surprised the bill could be that high even with locally hosted images. What else is using so much bandwidth? The page source isn't too bloated looking. Or is that bill for a longer time period than one month? |

I just sent a bit of money, Lance. As a hobbyist, I know I get value from this site, and I am willing to pay for that value. I also figure there are lots of participants who feel the same way. Just something to consider as you think about funding structures for the future. |
