I sketched out an idea for a florentine cutaway bending form yesterday with some MDF. The form would be a 6" wide solid form with a simple notch to hold blanket, slats, and side in place. I'm not sure how I'd clamp the outboard side of the cutaway into position once bent. I've seen Tony Karol's jig with the arm and spring. I'm thinking about adding feet to the bottom of each end and just using a spring clamp to hold the side in place. I'd love your feedback before whipping it up. |

James, I can't wrap my head around what I'm looking at. Could you provide some context? |

Looks like this is just for bending the cutaway piece? If so you can drill a large hole(s) in the inside of the form for clamps |

Hi James, Send me an email -- info@fayguitars.com and I will try and snap some photos for you of the jig I used either tonight or tomorrow. It took a couple iterations before I got something I like. |
