Post subject: | ROSETTES |
I am looking for plans that allow me to make different mosaic patterns for my rosettes. One that I am particularly interested in making is the pattern that looks like a folded ribbon that goes all the way around the rosette. Can anyone offer suggestions or plans for how I can make this element for a rosette ? Don |

Someone wrote a software that allows you to design a rosette and it would tell you how much of certain strip is necessary.... |

Order the Guild of American Luthiers Back Issue #84 (Winter 2005). The cost is US$12. There you will find an article by Greg Byers setting out his processes for designing and making his rosette element including the folded ribbons you are asking about. Lots of pictures and details. Other elements include herringbone/wheat, ladders, chains etc. and there are photo examples of how he combines them into one rosette. Byers rosettes are very impressive. Attachment: Byers.jpg
