Check it out under power - make sure everything runs smooth, no weird vibrations & the blade will track. Kevin Looker |

Hi Robert: I have that exact saw. I bought it new in 1983, I think. It's still running strong and has had plenty of use. It has a few shortcomings but it's resawn a lot of wood over the years and seems to have plenty power for that task. The dust collection is terrible, so I've made a few improvements in that area. As it was sold it, it had a resaw capacity of about 7-1/2". I built a riser block that took that up to 12". I got rid of the lousy fence that it came with and made a new one that works well. And I added a set of home-built carter style guides. All in all its now a pretty decent saw. If the motor is good, I'd say $250 is a heck of a deal. Dean |

originally I bought a delta and added the riser block. I dont care that setup, it had to much flex. later I got an 18" Jet for 300.00 on craigslist it was worth every penny my only complaint is that its not that easy to change the blades and the lower blade guides are a pain. If your going to be re sawing backs and sides a lot I would go bigger. If I had more space I would add another smaller one to my shop and keep the bigger one setup as a re saw. |

I have that saw too. It works. I constantly look for a better saw but haven't really needed one yet. It does the job but takes a bit of set up time with each blade change. 250 seems about what I could sell mine for. The motor is good though. |
