Post subject:  fun with rosettes

I have a class this week and we are doing a mixed wood tile rosette. Tomorrow I will install pearl in it but the process is simple
Figure out the rosette diameter , inside and outside. Select the wood and make a tapered tile. I glue them on a 1/16 substrate with a center hole.
Once you have your top channel routed you can set the cutter to the outside edge then the inside edge. This gives you the ring. At this point I split it with my cutter to offset the color. Tomorrow once the glue sets I will install an inner and outer black .020 then in the center a .065 pearl ring with .010 black . They set off nicely.

Nice John! And a sexy looking top also. I have a thing for Bearclaw. Please post a photo of the finished product if you can.

Cheers,
Danny
