Hello All!

Does anyone have a list of good Guitar shows and festivals that are geared toward the custom builder?
I am going to check out the Dallas International Guitar Festival in May and have found the Healdsberg is being postponed til 2016.

Thanks
Jay Strite

GAL and ASIA both have conventions/symposiums, and I remember reading an article in Acoustic Guitar a few weeks ago that listed the best festival in each state. In Texas, Kerrville was the one, it's an annual event.

If you have not exhibited or attended a show geared toward custom builders be sure to simply attend the show of your choice too. It's an excellent opportunity for recon and will give you a sense of where the bar is, not in the single malt sense but in terms of the fit and finish, build quality, etc. of your potential competitors. It's also an excellent opportunity to get some intel on pricing, competition, and if you really want to participate as well.

Shows can be a good time and most builders will be warm and welcoming to you, that was my experience at Healdsburg in 2007. Just be sure to understand in advance that their time when the show is open is a perishable and expensive opportunity for them so be keen to not get in the way of their dealings with prospective clients.

I have been showing at Trade Shows for over 20 years now (I have been a Jeweler, woodworker, and custom firearm builder). We all ways scout a show before booking.
I'm just looking for a list of guitar shows to scout.

Thanks Jay
