I use spanish cedar for all my back braces. |

I prefer sitka spruce it/s stronger./stiffer than some sp. cedar .But it (sp cedar), seems to be favourable with CL gtr builders |

I've used everything from extremely lightweight Eastern white cedar to maple for back braces. It all works, just depends on what you're after or what you expect. A guitar's back is one place where you can deviate from the normal stiffness to weight stuff and get away with it. |
