I really love Blues Creek's inlay tool, even if I could have purchased the exact same tool for 50 dollars less in Taiwan... It's quiet compared to any router and handles exactly like a pencil without the rotational force of a larger laminate trimmer (which makes following a line next to impossible). Coupled with my new compressor in a box it's very silent, and the compressor actually CATCHES UP with the tool (it cycles on and off rather than run continuously when the tool runs). I made this inlay using the tool but I messed up on some parts... and unfortunately this wood doesn't hide so well like ebony...

Nice start, Tai. Is there any significance to the spalted shape on the left? Good tools are always worth the money that you spend on them!

Funny, When I first saw it that is what I thought of. I had a good friend that lived in Taipei for a while and he was always talking about the typhoons so I watched a lot of weather maps thinking of him.

Looks just like what you intended although some people not familiar with Taiwan may not pick it up.

Tai, I will also admit to missing the symbolism of the inlay (poor geography on my part), but the inlay was executed well. Good job on the inlay and the binding!
