Post subject:  CONTEST - Win Custom Made African Blackwood Bridge Pins *WON

Here's a contest for folks who may have built up to ten completed guitars or less including none so far. To be clear none to ten guitars.... :D

The weiner will be the first one to answer all of my stupid questions correctly and post their answers as Duh Padma would say in dis hear thread. :D

US entrants please only to save me on the shipping and forms at the post office.

The weiner will win some very nice custom made African Blackwood bridge pins, three degree, non-slotted, with a matching end pin. I'll cover shipping so all you have to do is be the first to answer my stupid questions correctly!

As you may have guessed this quiz will be about bridges, pins, bridge plates, you know..... that part of a stinkin guitar. :) I'm looking for the best answer to each question so keep this in mind.

QUESTION 1) What is it called where the string passes over the saddle AND to what degree the string angles into the pin holes?

a) Pin path
b) Pin slots
c) Break angle

QUESTION 2) Why does the proper intonation point for the G string change from many electrics as compared to acoustics?

a) Heavy metal vomit music is not intonation dependent....
b) Acoustics typically have a wound G and electrics may not and typically don't have a wound G
c) Someone screwed up in the f*ctory...........again........

QUESTION 3) What is a technique used to address increasing the answer to question 1 above and can be seen on certain Martin lower end models?

a) String ramps
b) A reamer
c) Shimming the saddle

QUESTION 4) Certain bridge pin materials may seem to sound better to the listener if they are nuts like me  :) but "if" there is an improvement in the perceived tone resulting from swapping bridge pins what is more likely to be the reason beyond the material?

a) Psychoacoustics
b) Better fit
c) Differences in mass that collectively with the bridge, saddle, etc. may or may not benefit a specific instrument

QUESTION 5) Slotted bridge pins were developed likely because?

a) The advent of plastics
b) They are cheap to produce in huge quantities
c) It reduced the labor intensive practice of slotting the bridge, top and plate
d) All of the above

Good Luck to all!

Hesh my friend. Padma has finally gotten through to you. Becoming a monk and giving away all your worldly possessions are you? Ha Ha Good for you. It's fun to give stuff away.

Best of the Season,
Danny

Thanks Buddy! Good to see you back and thanks for saving me a few bucks and not shipping any of your stash to Canada. Although I may have bit on the Tiger Myrtle. Nice set!

Cheers

Psycho-Psychic-Acoustics, eh?

hmmmm...

mass is just an energy state, didn't you know? E=mc2 and all that...

anyway, I'll bow out of this one I guess...methinks winning 2 prizes might be in bad taste, but hey, what bug has bitten you Hesh d00d?
