I took Robbie's class in guitar finishing remotely over the Internet several years ago and Robbie was able to even teach me to French polish.... Not an easy thing to do I will add......
OK so here is how this will work. The contest is for newer builders like my other contests and limited to someone who has not won a previous contest of mine. To me a newer builder for the sake of this contest is someone with no more than three completed guitars under their belts. So if you have not even built one guitar yet you are most certainly eligible.
US entrants only please so save me some effort at the post office. Offer void where prohibited (always wanted to say that...) and employees and family members of b*njo manufacturers are not eligible.... Just kidding.
The first one to correctly post the answers to the following questions about building guitars wins the DVD free of charge and I will pick-up shipping as well.
Question 1) Many builders will agree that it is better to finish your steel string guitars with the necks off and although there are a number of benefits I am looking for the best answer from below:
A) Come neck reset time it is far easier to preserve the finish if the finish has not been sprayed over the neck joint.
B) If French polishing it's easier to not have to deal with the tight quarters of the neck joint (steel string guitars).
C) Both A and B.

Question 5) Many builders shoot for thinner finishes so that once the instrument is complete we are hearing the wood and not the finish. Some finishes are tougher and more resistant to abuse and some are thinner and offer very little in the way of ding resistance. Of the choices below which finish is one of the least ding resistant but one of the easiest to repair?
A) French polished shellac
