The sound ports, the head stock inlay, and the redwood top - very impressive [clap]

Great guitar! The cocobolo really sets it off. Have you been by any of the LINT (Luthiers Interactive of North Texas) meetings here in the area? If not, you should check it out. A good group with a lot of knowledge.

Very nice! I like the bridge, it reminds me of the hood emblem on a '55 Chevy.

Like the design elements - the heel carve in particular is a nice original touch. Has me re-thinking how I should approach heel design on my cutaways (which are currently only in existence on paper).

Jonathan --

This is one stunning guitar! I love your wood choices, as well as many of your design elements. Your heel design is great, as well as your headstock shape. The tuners go beautifully. I'm actually building a walnut cutaway (Venetian) that could wind up looking a bit like this one! I think I would prefer some color on the neck, but that's a small nitpick. Well done!

My favorite design elements here are the spalted rosette and the headstock inlay. Everything is beautifully executed on your instrument, but I personally would have paired that top with a less showy back and side set. I'm not criticizing--just stating my personal preferences. It really is a beautifully built instrument. Your craftsmanship is superb.

Thanks everyone for the kind words, i had not taken a look at this thread since i posted it, i appreciate all the nice compliments.

as far as the guitar itself, i liked it, BUT if it were for me i would have paired the redwood top with a nice dark EIR/WENGE or another dark B&S. but the customer wanted walnut so i couldn't do much there.

here is a review of the customer with this guitar.

thanks for looking,

Jonathan
