Almost one year ago I finished my first OM. Now I thought that some might enjoy some pictures.

Here are the specs:
• Sitka Spruce top
• Koa back & sides
• All Adirondack Spruce bracing (with scalloped X bracing)
• Madagascar Rosewood rosette
• EIR headstock overlay (with MOP logo)
• Madagascar Rosewood binding (with b/maple/b/maple top purfling)
• Madagascar Rosewood fretboard and bridge (with Amazon rosewood bridge pins)
• Mahagony neck with black fiber accents
• Waverlys open back tuners
• Bone nut & saddle
• D'Addario PB lights strings
• Z-Poxy pore filler
• KTM9 finish for the body and neck

For the first time my polishing turned out to be excellent. This is due to the use of Abralon sanding discs (1000, 2000, 4000) on a ROS. Those are highly recommended. The final polishing was done with an armada of car care products from Meguiars („Swirl Free Polish“, „Show Car Glaze“, „Tech Wax 2”). For a finish without polish weels, the outcome is just great.

It truly is a beautiful instrument. Every time I imagine that I might have a shot at making a nice guitar, I see one of these excellent instruments, and I can't quite figure out whether I am inspired or whether I'm ready to throw in the towel! Wonderful guitar!

Fine looking guitar. If it sounds as good as it looks, you've got a home run! Congratulations!

Thanks a lot for all the positive feedback. You made my day. [clap]
The Koa set really a nice one I got some years ago from Vulcano.

You ask how it sounds? Hard to describe as I am no pro guitar player. I like the sound for sure: Warm and balanced.

Last October I had the chance to let a pro guitarist play it. In a nearby music instrument store there was an event called "Breedlove Bodytalk". Breedlove's European Product Manager talked about the influence of different top woods and body shapes on the sound of the guitar. One of Breedlove's musician testimonial - a fantastic Austrian guitar player - played almost 20 different guitars to show the differences in sound.

After the show I let them have a look at this OM. Everybody was enthused. The Austrian guitar player wouldn't let go of it and played for almost half an hour. He loved it for its "unique" sound and responsiveness. I couldn't get the grin of my face for some days. :D

That's very tastefully done. I really like the way the madagascar rosewood sets off the koa.
