This stuff just goes way too far. Regulations are supposed to help, not create more problems. The fact that if you or I were to bring a guitar with a protected wood on it on a vacation to another country and possibly have it confiscated when we get back through customs is nuts. Some sources are saying that not only do you have to prove where the wood was purchased from and when, but you may also need documentation of when and where it was turned from raw wood into a bridge or fretboard. Who the hell carries that kind of documentation with them, let alone where you ever begin to find it.

If they are buying their wood illegally, then they should pay the price because the law is the law, but passing regulations that basically make it impossible for a private person to travel out of the country with their grandfathers old guitar is wrong.
