i had been looking locally for either a 1/4" to 1/8" collet adapter or an actual 1/8" collet that fits my bosch colt with not much success. i just didnt feel like paying exorbitant shipping on a $5 item and then waiting a week to get it. i happened across a thread on a cnc forum, i believe, where someone mentioned that the collet on a ryobi speed saw rotary cutter fit perfectly. i went into a local big box store (not naming any names) to see if i could buy just the collet. no luck, but when i asked if i could buy the collet off of the display, the guy paused for a second and said, "merry christmas." merry christmas indeed. it fits perfectly and now i can run 1/8" bits in my colt. if anyone has any negative experience or sees any possible hazards with this or similar setups, please feel free to let me know. just wanted to let others out there know that this is one possible way to run smaller bits with a bosch colt. below is the link to the rotary cutter im referring to. http://www.ryobitools.com/catalog/power ... otary/P530 |

I believe the collets for these are standard industry collets, either ER-16 or ER-20. If you do a google search you can can find these to hold a variety of bit sizes. |

I use the adapter as well. However, if you need to use something like 3/16" bit, I'm not aware of anyone making adapters for that. Plus I suspect there is less runout with a collet vs. an adapter. |
