HI Lars:

I bought one set from this seller a while back. The set I received was poorly sawn in that one half of the back was sawn much thinner than advertised. The seller did send me another set though and was good to deal with. The one thing that concerned me was that the wood I received was shipped directly from Brazil not Connecticut.

Hope that help a bit.

I wouldn't use any of those sets, and his feedback is not great. I would think shipping costs could be very high.

Here's a compilation of his feedbacks.

I believe you can cancel bids if it's not too close to the close.

No, It's not legal. But, unless you knew otherwise, you'd think it was coming from Conn. This was the case when I bought some.

Been there done that. Most of his sets are new growth I think. You're not gonna find any orange brazilian in any of that stuff. Mostly black and grayish/green. I bought a small set at what I thought was a good price and it was basically junk. Had some snipe on the side set which means they're planing some of it which ain't such a good idea with rosewoods. Let it go and try to forget about brazilian as a tonewood as hard as it may be...I'm trying to convince myself of the same.

Good luck

I am off the case :-) someone put a higher bid than mine.

Well I didnt even think of the legal aspect ! But then Again I had my first beer before the law said I should to. :D :D
Honestly I was to excited to look at the wood to even think if its legal to import or not. Not sure if it is ! but most things are illegal here in Sweden. a friend of mine was giving his friend a ride on a regular bicyckle and was stopped by the police. I though that only could happen In countries like russia. But then again Sweden aint far from it with all the rules and regulations. gaah .

Thank you all for your help. ment a lot to me.
Hesh Inform me as you get the blue steel chisel, I´ve been looking for a "main" chisel but not sure what to get.
was thinking of getting me a Vintage Stanley 750. but confused what to get.
