We'll be on a road trip from Washington to Kansas next week. Does anybody know of tonewood suppliers along the way ? We'll be driving through the Idaho panhandle, Montana, Nebraska, then Kansas. Thanks, Pat |

Pat: I does not look like you are heading west but if you are in North-Western Washington there is Pacific Rim Tonewoods. They are a major supplier of top woods but also have back and side woods. |

Pat, It might be a bit out of the way, but there is Rocky Mountain Tonewood near Denver, CO Be safe. |

Pat We have all the Osage Orange (also known by other names) you could ever want right here in Kansas. Bring your chainsaw. It will have a unique tone when cutting the dry hedgewood. Would that qualify as "tonewood". ![]() |

Thanks for the info, gentlemen. George, yes it's unfortunate, that Pacific Rim is too far west for this trip, but I might get over that way in the fall. Chuck, Rocky Mountain looks like a good source, but they seem to only sell violin-family top woods, and I can't resaw. ![]() Nelson, Osage Orange sure does qualify. I have a few sets myself, courtesy of BobC. Bring a chainsaw, hmmm..... Man, I wish Hibdon was just a bit closer to KC. Pat |
