 Post subject: cutting binding ledge?

I bought LMI's binding ledge set, inside was a note saying they placed the bearing in a way the binding ledge can be cut before the purfling shelf, has anyone tried it this way ? the few builders I have talked to said they cut the purfling shelf first . thanks Jody

I use that tool.

I cut the binding first. Then I recess for the side purfling (if you are going to miter around the end graft), then cut the purfling rabbet.
