Just as hard to find as the fingerboard blanks, are the BRW Bindings. I have searched high and low, but have not found any as of yet. I haven't called or emailed around to check if anyone has them but just doesn't have them advertised, but wondering if anyone knows off hand where I could find some. Thanks for your help. |

If someone can find Brock's address, I'm sure we can organize a break in. ![]() |

Hesh is right!!!!! ![]() But if you go to www.gilmerwoods.com you may be able to get what they call "palisander"(rosewood in french) and it comes from Brazil and except for the sweet smell of brazilian you can not tell them apart!!! You will have to buy & cut your own from them! mike |

What Gilmer calls palisander is D. baroni--Madagascar rosewood. |

Gilmer's Palisander can vary wildly too. I have some that is very much like Brazilian, some like darker tight grained EIR and then some that is not like either but all sold as Palisander. It is all great in my opinion but not all a dead ringer. It is pretty easy to see from their photos what is what, their website is the best! |

There's quite a bit of variety in appearance in Brazilian RW too. Some cocobolo looks like b. rw. esp as it oxidizes. ![]() |

In all seriousness... Madrose or dark Amazon should be functionally and visually equivalant. I have them all separated, but sometimes have a bear of a time figuring out which is which. I usually resort to the smell. |

Thanks all. If I can't find Brazilain (which I probably won't), I'll give Mad Rose or Amazon a try. |

I've managed to get some from David Dyke here in the UK. His BRW stock is in large logs/boards from what I understand, and he just sawed me off some to manufacture in to bindings myself ![]() |
