These two Youtube viedeos were posted on the Acoustic Guitar Magazine Luthiers Forum showing Peter Yelda teaching guitar making as an Artist in Residence in California. I found it incredibly uplifting and a great insight into the "magic" we all enjoy. Robbie O'Brien does a similar thing and it must feel great. |

Dave, when I click to play them, all I get is a message saying "We're sorry, this video is no longer available". What gives? Cheers, Dave F. |

Yes, I do something similar but don't have arts council funding. Like Peter said in the video, it is more than a fair exchange. I get a lot out of teaching these courses and the satisfaction of seeing someone build their own guitar is great! |

THANK YOU Dave for sharing those links with us. I just found that so uplifting seeing people make guitars. Sometimes I get to a point in my build where I tell myself what in the world are you doing? This is for Master Craftspeople, not someone that can't even make a pair of saw horses out of two by fours. But, my struggles continues. I like when the beautiful lady says that there are a hundred ways to make mistakes and she's found most of them. My mistake meter is also pushing a hundred also. Anyway, thanks for sharing, it has revived my love for building. It's too easy for me to put it off working on my guitar, cause I lie to myself and say I'll wait to learn more about it so I don't mess it up, when in reality, I need to pick up my tools and just do it. Once upon a time Sophocles say, "One learns by doing a thing. For though you think you know it, you have no certainty until you try." |
