If you have a well fitted joint, you need very little pressure to hold things in place while the glue sets up.
I've seen some classical guitar guys who build flat and do a quick 'rub in place' with HHG and done.

I like the fg rods with their durability and constant force. A knockdown platform takes care of different height requirements.

On Kathy Matsushita's web site she shows how she uses Pony pipe clamps on her 3/4" pipe uprights, something I would consider if I had that type of go bar deck.

True that might be for hhg, but for titebond, there is a Psi recommendation. I'm not sure what it is mind you, or whether the glue requires that to do what it does best or if the psi suggestion is to get the glue line thin enough, but it's something to consider...
