Thanks. Good question on the next one. I have a few more back and side walnut sets that I got from Bruce Sexauer. I will certainly us them. I now have a spruce top /rosewood dread, a spruce top / mahogany 000-18, a cedar top/cocobolo Parker P-28 (that I've never been able to figure out a size designation for because of the unusual shape), and now a redwood top / walnut OM. I will strive to do something different on the next one also. I'm thinking an adi top/ walnut 00-24 short scale next.

Thanks John. I'm a big fan of your builds. You seem to hit just the right balance in shape, appointments, and finish. I'll bet they sound as good as they look. If you don't mind me asking, where did you source the 00 plans?

Congratulations, Brad! It's fantastic. If you're interested in learning more about French Polish, consider joining Tom Bills', "Luthier's Edge" program for a month. You'll get access to his FP course. Learning his method and watching him do it in real time really changed what I'm able to do!

Hey everyone,

Just an update on my build status. Well, I'm not going to be able to get it done. I thought I'd have the time to fit it in, and as much as I'd love to, I just won't be able to do it. So instead of a box of guitar building stuff just sitting in my garage for who knows how long, I'd like to pass it along. If anyone is interested, I'll send everything Joel and Hesh sent me with the exception of the slot head tuners. I've given them to Brad.

For full disclosure, there's a lot of stuff in the box, but I'm not an acoustic builder, so I don't know what issues there may be with some of the woods. What I do know is there are a couple of tops, but they don't appear to be quarter sawn. There are a couple of side sets, but they're cupped, and I've been told they're pretty thin. There's a finished bridge, but it has a knot in the front edge.

Aside from that, there are a couple of neck blanks, bridge blanks, purfling strips, kerfed lining, fret wire from Hesh, miscellaneous woods for headstock veneers, etc. If you'd like it all, you're welcome to it. Just cover the shipping, and it's yours. The first person to contact me or post their desire in this thread can have it.

Thanks, and I apologize for not being able to uphold my end of the deal with the build.

I feel for you... I didn't toss my hat in the ring because I wasn't sure if I could motivate myself to build soon enough. Took me 7 years to get started on my first...

Great that you're passing on the opportunity to someone who could use the materials!!

Roger, I'm well aware of the wood issues you reference. It's too bad you didn't get the opportunity to complete your first acoustic guitar. I hope you do build one in the future. It's a very rewarding experience. And thanks for being a stand up guy and passing the box of parts along to someone else that may benefit from them. A class move.

Jarrod (JBoogie) who just finished up his first build has asked for the box o' goodies, so I'll be sending it off his way.

Again, I'm sorry I couldn't hold up my end of the bargain with this, but I'm glad to be sending it off to someone who's just getting started and is excited about building some more.
