What do you want to know? I think he's mostly retired now. Made lots a gypsy guitars and cool off the wall stuff, taught guitar building for a long time at Douglas College in New West...

He still builds whenever he finds an idea that interests him.

I have a classical guitar student who lives in an old converted church with lots of arches. She convinced Michael to build an arch-themed classical for her which he completed just a few months ago.

It's a beautiful sounding guitar!

Sorry I don't have any pics to share.

He also has a self published autobiography which I've read. Definitely a fun read for luthiers.

42 years ago the guy that got me interested in building guitars took lessons from a woman who was friends with Dunn.

At that time he was making a lot of classical guitars and lutes-mostly Cedar top from what I remember. Nice instruments.

Michael dances to the beat of his own drum. He did nice little Q & A at a guitar show we both had tables at last fall and I was fortunate to have dinner with him. He has led a very interesting life with starting out his building career by honing his building chops in Spain for a number of years cranking out classicals. He still builds a bit but I think just for fun. Great player and a gentleman.

Why you ask?
