You know those headstock truss rod access?

I have a block of wood between the UTB and the neck block, to serve as a guide for the truss rod wrench (I am using Hot Rod Trussrod), but also stiffen the upper bout area and shore up the UTB weakened by the hole in the brace. Well the minor detail was somehow I cannot get the wrench into the truss rod to actually adjust it, and it turns out for whatever reason the rod nut is set too deeply into the block, hence the access to the truss rod was impossible.

I did everything I could including making a little nifty tool to remove wood in that area so I could actually adjust the rod, but in the end I had to "reset" the neck so I can remove wood from the neck block and the block of the wood to allow access to the truss rod.

Moral of the story: make sure you test the truss rod adjustment and make sure you can actually access the truss rod during your dry run!!!

I to learn most of my lessons the hard way. The way I figure it, it is not actually a mistake.... just a new opportunity.... and I've had many.
