Wondering about something... for ideal playability, shouldn't the drop-off start at the 13th fret, as opposed to the 15th, on a 14-fret-to-neck guitar?

Just trying to work out some of the (very) finer details...

Thanks for any thoughts, experience,
Ken

no I don't really like to see a drop off. I want a straight neck prior to adjusting for relief. As you go higher up the neck the string length gets shorter thus the intonation tolerance is even tighter.

Yes - that's how I set-up my own guitars and how I fret dress my customer guitars. Your Miley Cyrus may vary.... :)

Hi Ken,
I think of the "drop off" as being there to compensate for the neck (or body)pulling up a little bit over time. I would only add it to the fingerboard over the body.
