Brian Galloup's Dynamic Voicing class? Got just a taste at ASIA, but seemed really interesting.

A bottle of X.O., and I promise to put a drop of it in my shellac. Cheers.

My "guitar gift" this year is a bench mounted articulating magnifying glass / lamp from Lee Valley. Got it just in time to reveal some scratches in the mahogany, well below what I think is my nicest finish job so far laughing6-hehe !! If I don't laugh at that one, I'll be crying.

On the upside, I know the fret work I'll be doing in a week or so is going to improve dramatically. I should have bought one of these 10 guitars ago.

Happy holidays everyone . . . and happy building.

Phil

Picked up a 600x/1200x diamond bench stone. No more excuses for dull tools and resulting tear-outs.

I got the new Ridgid laminate router with the micrometer adjustment and variable speed, a two handle base for it plus guide bushings, and a set of Stanley Bailey bench chisels. Also got enough money to make a nice order at Stewmac of fret wire, fret pulling guards (I'm going to redo the frets on my most recent job), slot gauges, teflon dams, and the 25"-25.5" fret saw guide. Good Christmas!

Treated myself to a bunch of Malaysian Blackwood and Cocobolo head plates, and a couple of other bits and pieces.

Anyone else find a nice surprise this morning?

Awesome! I am glad that they got there in time! Happy planing.

Santa went to Maine and brought me a pretty nice block plane!

Lovin it. Neighbors probably don't. So my Christmas gift to them was to organize everything tonight instead of making noise :)

I think it might be time for your hand planes to come out of the closet (or alcove, etc.)...while it is obviously perfectly fine to keep things locked away from prying eyes, a rack of hand planes in ready view puts me at ease when I am visiting a shop. Just saying.

Ahhh that's not a closet Todd, that's the entrance to garage/shop. The door is just to the left. I prefer to keep them there as it keeps them more free of sawdust. Plus I still haven't finished building my walnut dining room table, end tables, coffee table, or my replacement guitar let alone a rack for my planes. I've seen enough angry woman this year ;)

I received a gift that has me wondering.
Christmas cookies from my ex-wife.
Does this just smack of arsenic poisoning?
I`m not gonna tell her, but I am not eating them.
Nah, she wouldn't do that... or would she?
