I like it! Very cool John! [:Y:] [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap]

It kind of reminds me of Leslie West but with some color.

Is that a copy of another design? If not, that's got to be the best looking "new" electric git' shape I've seen in forever. If I ever get around to building a bass I'll have to copy..er..use this as inspiration.

For sure not a new design. In fact a really old one. It's based off a 1958 Les Paul Junior.

Nice looking Axe, John! Simple, yet elegant. Goes well with the amps you recently showed.

And it's also nice to know that we're getting quite a few folks crossing over to the Electric Side on the forum. Hopefully one day the Electrics might even become as popular as Resonators and even get a separate forum of its own! gaah [headinwall]

It looks like he forgot the soundhole... oops_sign How did you bend those sides for the cutaway?

That's a nice looking guitar. What kind of pickup is that?

 Can you tell I'm not much of a guitar-ist. Funny, never came across an LPJ in my travels.

Still, very well done.

It's serial #7 for my new line of electrics. And the customer wanted that inlay custom.

Very nice John! I'm making a 3/4 size sg-ish thing for my son with a single P90 (dog ear style), wrap around bridge, jr. style instrument. Question: Do you know if anyone makes smaller versions of this hardware? I have not been able to find any, so I have the full size hardware on hand, but it would be great if I could find it in the right size.

Oh yes, plugging your “luck 7” straight into that new amp of yours sounds like an excellent recipe for great tone to me… Then let your volume and tone knobs on the guitar plus your FINGERS adjust the rest of your sound. I decided long ago that less is definitely more when it comes to signal path / tone in the electric guitar world.

I'll add my voice to the Chorus, John. I like it, this is the type of guitar I am most comfortable playing. I am a pretty "straight-in" guy, and I like one pickup guitars with small tube amps. I have been using a split-coil humbucker in most of my guitars but I just finished a telecaster, I had the urge to play one again and I am liking it, too...I find I had missed that front pickup.

John-

I love it - your new guitar is sweet! I love old juniors. In my opinion they are far better than their big brothers with 2 humbuckers. I have a Lollar P-90 in the bridge of one of my guitars and it is the best. One of these days I am going to build one of those - I was lucky enough to take very detailed measurements from a 59 junior that was one of Johnny Jenkins' main guitars. The neck profile on that one is just perfect.

Are the woods standard fare - Honduran mahogany for neck/body and rosewood fingerboard? Are those Waverlys? What kind of bridge?

Thanks-

Yup woods are standard. Hondo neck and body, Madagascar board, ebony cavity cover, and headplate. Gotoh open back tuners. the bridge is a stewmac Badass style bridge. Studs are tone-pros locking studs.
