Thanks and warmest regards in this new year to Mr. Breakstone and his partners in Ann Arbor Guitars for their very welcome referral of a Northern VA area customer to this shop. Deeply appreciated, and a reminder to me of how important our interactions with our colleagues can be in this business. More importantly, it was an example of how customer care is sometimes a good referral, whether because of locality or because that customer is better served by the unique capabilities available elsewhere.

The nature of the referral - a customer seeking a recommendation for a Northern Virginia/DC repair shop on one of the online forums for a possible neck reset - was the impetus for the boss's request to me to, while sidelined, put together a city-by-city/state-by-state list of those repair shops that we have had some dealings with - either first hand, as a result of seeing their work or earlier referral, or due to unique, specialty restoration/repair capabilities or industry wide reputation (as a number of those posting here on OLF have achieved). Not all repair tickets carry information on earlier repairs, but a surprising number have an entry or two in the condition report section. From just the first few months of tickets reviewed:

"Primo FP job...E Reid rocks!"
"Retop by W Henderson 2005...nice wrk"
"Reset/refret/new BP Kimsey - hard to tell (ed. new work from original)"

Again, thanks, gentlemen.
