A few weeks back I completed a prototype build on a new body size.

Bubinga back and sides
Bearclaw Sitka top
Ebony Binding, arm and rib rest bevel veneer

I can never seem to get the youtube post thing to work in my posts so here is a link to a video of my Buddy Paul Murphy doing some noodling on it.

Looks and sounds just, well, I'm a bit lost for words.
Looks great and sounds even better was my impression.
Nice one Fred.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Another beauty! What are the body dimensions, Fred? Looks like a comfy size.

I should probably stop logging into this site. I keep seeing these guitars and wondering why I even bother trying to make instruments. Lovely guitar!

Nice, Fred. I like the stylish combination of gloss and matte finishes.

Nice looking guitar. I love the design and the rib bevel is very cool. Inspirational work.
