I get mine at Australian Tonewoods. I bought back and side sets and binding from them. Pretty prompt arrival as well considering.

Hearne HW has blackwood, I would bet that Gary Chanin at Chanin HW in Edmonton also has some, but you will have to deal with him.
Let us know how you make out.

It was about $80 so on the pricey side. The sets they have are really nice.

Speaking as an Aussie amateur luthier I really don't think that we should let this stuff out of the country. But if you must rob us of our natural resources then I certainly can recommend Tim Spittle of Australian Tonewoods as a good supplier of very nice timber.

OK. Good point. Australian Blackwood and North American spruce is a good marriage so we could encourage that kind of exchange of resources.

The shipping across the Pacific can be expensive. The Australian and NZ luthier fraternity often get together to make group buys of American stuff and share the freight cost on a bigger shipment (this generally gets organized through contact on the ANZLF). Maybe some of you OLFers could organize a group buy to go the other way?
If you are buying from Tim he often has more stuff than is on the website. It is worth an email or phone call if you are looking for something special.
