This is the 35'th dread that I have built, somewhere around my #56'th guitar. Just finished the setup, ready to ship to my customer in Australia.
This one was a bit different from any I have built so far and had a few challenges in its construction.
Spalted tamarind back and sides, Adirondack spruce top, adi bracing, ebony binding..
This thing plays really well and sounds great. My customer specifically wanted "A geetar with that big ballsy bass, Mate!" I think I accomplished that plus some. The bass BOOMS without distortion, the trebles ring clear and true, too.

An amazing looking guitar. A level of craft and design to aspire to.

Truly inspirational! May I ask how you braced it?

Aaron,
Like that "geetar" [:Y:] ; what is the wood choice on the peg head, arm rest and tail of guitar? Lacewood? Leopard wood?

Wow Aaron - very unique. I saw this earlier in a thread re: the Uralkyd 500 finish but wondered about the sound hole(s) idea. Did you use an 'X' brace? Was it much lighter because of the lack of sound hole and added strength through that area? Curious.

Thanks for the kind remarks! I appreciate the positive reinforcement. I still get nervous everytime I deliver an instrument.

Thanks! The accent wood is Brazilian Leopardwood.

The x brace is pretty much the same as any other dread I have built, but the slotted holes in the upper bout are what posed a bit of issue to brace. I hade to figure a way to transfer the force of the string pull in a way that the neck block wouldn't eventually break the slotted soundholes.. Here is a pic of the top bracing in progress, I added something extra under the portion of the top where the fretboard attaches to the top, but it is not in this picture.
