My jet 12 in bandsaw ia amost 13 years old and gets daily use. It is a 1/2 hp workhorse and have been very happy with it . Fot the past 5 years have used starrett 3/8 in 3tpi bandsaw blades in 10 packs from BC saw in toronto ontario. When I first got the saw I tried the highland hdware thin slicer, and timberwolf blades , neither worked well for long. Can you folks recommend a bulk supplier that sells for a reasonable price ?? . I was paying abt 11 $ for the blades from BC saw . Down to my last 82 in blade .

Are you happy with the Starrett blades?

I've always had good luck with their blades except I use a skip pattern.

IMO $11.00 per blade is not a bad price. MSC industrial supply sells Starret and Lenox. You can also check with Spectrum Supply in Cleveland - they sell Lenox.

thanks kev I think the starretts ar ok . I run them at 1/4in tension. They eventually wear out and always break, they are skip tooth. My problem is ordering from canada , sometimes 1 week sometimes 2 or 3 weeks , depending if the blades get stuck at customs or not . Another time the bonzo from fed -ex left a note and I had to spend about 1 hr going back , wasting time etc to find the fed -ex depot . I prefer usps, as fed ex and ups are in Kansas their depots are 25 mi from here and sometimes stuff sits in their warehouse for 4 days before coming to the missouri side of the state line. I was looking at bi-metal blades . The narrowest I found was 3/4in bi- metal . My puny 12 in wheels will accept 1/2 in max only.

I'm surprised you can't get bi metal any smaller, like with a jigsaw blade.
