I wanted to try playing with some inlay, but being up in Canada, I can't source material from the usual suspects. Does anybody know of sources for abalone/abalam up here, or any reputable ebay dealers?

thanks in advance

Steve

Depending what you are looking for .. blanks, dots, diamonds ... Martin at MOPsupplies.com has all that - and Exotic woods in Burlington has a selection of stuff as well, so does A&M in Cambridge. Andy Depaule ( luthiersupply.com) has moved to Vietnam (he still has his sons in the US for that market) ... so no more issues with international orders and USFW. Now he is right with his little factory of cutters over there.

I have sheets of abalam and a pretty good supply of dots. I may also start to cut rosette and purfling strips on the cnc over the winter. I am in BC.

Good news there Shane!

And good news about Andy moving to Vietnam so we can have items drop shipped.

There's also Timeless Instruments in Sask. I've never bought anything from him so I don't know his prices but have checked his site maybe once a year.

There is also inlaidartist or whatever his handle seems to be now on ebay. They ship out of Taiwan or Vietnam but I can't figure out which (a lot of them aren't so transparent about their businesses).
