Here's another newbie question from yours truly.

Lets's say, hypothetically, that I found a piece of wood that I really wanted to use for a guitar, but it was only wide enough to make a set with a 4-piece back instead of a 2-piece. Assuming the woods are the same, and the stiffness/weight/etc. of each piece of wood is the same, what difference in tone would there be between both backs? Does the extra glue and/or joining points make any difference in the way the back vibrates or transmits sound at all? And outside of that, are there any downsides to a 4-piece back that you wouldn't experience with a 2-piece back?

Thanks a lot!

If you like the wood - go for it!
