Pretty busy here, but I've got a few things going on.

Koa 00 is starting to come together:

Decided to refret my electric--the first fretboard I ever mutilated, er, fretted...:

Got the back on my cocobolo concert uke:

And got started on her rosette:

And finally, just in case any of you have started to take your bandsaws for granted--wore myself out ripping a bridge blank with a coping saw to make two bridge plates:

I'm making a cutaway resonator and laminating cherry for the sides. It's a Benedetto body shape with a tight cutaway.

Not really a bench, but it is my "french polishing room" (bathroom...).

My trusty bottle of Everclear is hiding in the background next to the Novus #2 (which has a nasty aftertaste btw [xx(])

Jody, what about this SJ case from Ameritage? Its still not cheap but beats $500.

Edward , thanks for the tip on the case, that is a better price for sure, and it will probably work for my present build. you are still talking almost $400.00 with shipping and everything included still a bit high priced to " throw in " the case with the guitar, and I dont know , most guitar players are home players and do not need such an expensive case , and there is a limit to what I can charge for my first builds , with case or without . Jody, the custom cases for luthiers are only about $250 from Ameritage. Give Nancy a call. They will make a custom one to fit your body shape.

Just finished my first segmented rosette on a mild bearclaw top.

Hesh,
Just about to glue this redwood top on. This is a first time for this type of rosette. Turned out better than I thought. I'm not quite done with the voicing, just a few more tweeks, then it will be ready. I already have my flamed koa back and sides glued on, so just need to close the box. This is guitar #4, and instrument #8. I should be done by April sometime if all goes well.

Final action tweeks on the Honduras 12 string. Have had it strung and unstrung 4 times now. Strings are .070-.014" and a 26.2 scale tuned to C+...just can't seem to get to that B.
