but no one can do it.

I've been away from the OLF for several months as the day job got overwhelming. I got back on this week and see that there seems to be a lot of angst among my friends here. Posts about vendors - folks trading barbs on the public forum...

This used to be the place to go and spend literally hours in friendly banter with folks. What happened?

I see that in the vendor posts, both the original posters apologized, which is great. Maybe we can let that drop now and even remove the posts...

As for the other stuff - there's a PM button on the screen for private messages. Maybe instead of folks flaming each other we can use that and if the differences cannot be cleared, just stay clear of the urge to blast someone.

Honestly, no one wants to hear it. I hope that I just caught the place in a "bad mood" and that this isn't what the OLF has turned into.

A very good point, and something I hadn't noticed since I didn't have the perspective of being away for a bit. So...what Mitch said, times 2!

I think you just came back on a bad day Mitch. I'm pretty sure it's the moon, or male PMS. Don't laugh. My wife tells me it happens.

I'm pretty happy. I'm just at the tail end of back to back kitchens and a "Honey Do" vanity and now I get to build something or me. Hmmm, OM, Mando??????? Maybe a Ba*#o just to liven the place up.

Happy building to all!

Danny

Agreed Mitch. Only thing worse than over-reacting is over-reacting in public!
Everyone's different, so everyone's "style" is different..... a rant from one might be nothing, but from another, well....

Internet forums are an easy place to make a fuss. One of my intentions of spending so much time here is to develop real relationships with other builders (who I may someday have to face in person), so I prefer to leave out the drama...

Whose signature says something like "Have fun and be nice to each other"? We need some more of that (in general--not just this forum).

Communication is the most basic skill we need in order to survive in a civilized society,
but the most difficult to completely master!

Just an opinion, but there have been a lot of new members joining in lately. It takes time to get to know folks, and time to figure out personalities and time to figure out the "tone" of the forum. Same on their side. I think this is the source of the angst we have all noticed.

Mike (former, hopefully, angst inducer)
