Has anyone had the opportunity to use and compare both these blades for resawing?

I know Woodmaster users are happy. I'd really like to hear from someone who has used both. I expect this to be the last resaw blade I buy.

IIRC, BobC used to use the Aluminum Master blades before the Woodmaster CT.

I think a lot of guys were using the AM/Laguna Resaw King combo for general/super valuable cutting before the Woodmaster took over.

I thought this post was going to show a very expensive Aluminum fence sliced cleanly in half....

*Sigh*

If you are looking for a serious resaw blade at a seriously low price, go over to sawmillcreek.org, look under Deals & Discounts, and click on the thread named Laguna... something or another. $75 for most sizes. 180" and up is $100. I have one hanging on my wall, have not used it yet, but I have used their Resaw King blades and they are amazing. The one for sale right now is quite scary looking, very agressive. Folks that have tried them out have nothing but praise for them. At $75, it is worth a shot.

Yes, until Bob Cefalu chimes in, in person, I also remember that he was loving the Aluminum Master, then tried the Woodmaster CT and immediately switched to it.

p.s. Wondered where the heck you were. I miss the Klepperisms.

I've been using the 1" Carbide Timberwolf blade from Suffolk Machinery. Apparently, this is the bandsaw blade Taylor uses -- which is a pretty big endorsement if you ask me. It is specifically designed to cut dry hardwoods. I have been using the blade for years and it has remained incredibly sharp. I recently had mine resharpened (which can be done up to 3x for this particular blade) because I had used it to resaw some incredibly dense hardwoods (Desert Ironwood, Bubinga, etc...) over the past couple years. However, it was still performing admirably before the sharpening.

I don't have any experience with the other blades but have been absolutely thrilled with the performance of this blade. It cuts smoothly and leaves behind a very clean surface. Just something else to consider along with those other two.

Kind Regards,
Simon

The Resaw King is the best cutting and shortest lasting blade out there. I wouldn't use anything else on BRW, and I probably wouldn't use the Resaw King on anything else!

Lenox Tri-Master with 2/3 variable tooth. We resaw on a horizontal bandsaw.
It will cut anything. The variable tooth helps keep the blade from wandering with extreme figure/tension. I've never resawn BRW but they handle curly/quilted Big Leaf Maple, Birdseye Eastern Maple, and figured Walnut like nothing.
They also last forever.. I get through a couple hundred sets before I even start to think about replacing them.
