hi all.........i have a chance of picking up some wenge boards and i was wondering if any of you guyscould tell me anything about the workability of this stuff as i have never used it does it bend well etc......as always thanks a lot for any help..........joe

I think it is kind of splintery and coarse grained. I have machined and planed Wenge, it's pretty stuff when finished, but never tried to bend it. It might be best bent with Super Soft or the like.

it bends ok but will splinter like crazy

I used it on my first guitar and love the look I bent it over the iron using thin modellers either side to support it and it bent really easily

works good for binding. I just put the finish on one with Wenge binding. I'll try to throw up a pic later. I really like the look. Pores are huge and a pain to fill. And be careful on going through the dark lines to the softer light portions when sanding. It can get uneven if your not careful.

my last have wenge side and back.
my side rather thick(2.6mm) bend easy BUT my advice is before you start to work with wenge first obtain protection gloves my hand was ful of sparks but looks so dark chocolat nice
