Has anyone tried to glue this stuff with an aliphatic like Titebond or LMI glue?

I've done 3 or 4 rosettes and 1 top border with it so far. I used CA on the rosettes and LMI white on the top borders. No problems so far.

I think CA would be better as it will wick itself into the shell to prevent it from delaminating but I may just being overly cautious. Are you going to use it for rosettes or purflings?

Titebond will swell any wood lines and CA will not. So you might want to take that into concideration.

One does not simply, own enough guitars!

CA glue will certainly give you the benefit of it wicking into the very fine separations in that
shallow shell on top of the flexible backing material. It dries hard and dries fast and levels well
when you have the work done, whether in a rosette or top purfling.

The layer of shell is very thin so be sure that your channels and steps where the Zip Flex will
end up are cut accurately to the proper depth to avoid having to remove more material than is
available when leveling it. It's not Abalam where you can sand through that beautiful, thin top
layer of shell and break into the next layer of shell.

Once you're through the single layer of shell on the Zip Flex, there's just that solid black backing
material. It sure is handy stuff to work with and Kevin is being very gracious in offering it for sale
to other luthiers. The guy is a genius and has come up with so many great design, tool and material
innovations that it's hard to keep track of all of them anymore.
