Has anyone remove the buttons from waverly open back tuners? I would love to put some yellowheart buttons on a guitar I am doing with yellowheart trim. I'm wondering what I can expect on the shaft of the tuners if I get the factory tuners off. Splines, a flat surface on the shaft or what. Just curious.

John, a quick email to StewMac might get you an answer, Monday.

I've emailed them and they usually get back to me in a business day.

Since they are responsible for manufacture, maybe you could even order a set without buttons, save you the trouble of taking the others off?

Good luck with the solution.

I don't think they will order you a set but probably give you Waverly's website and you can talk to them. That's what they did when I asked about Grovers. But it's my guess they are also a press fit and can be removed like the Grovers. Will the Grovers Sta-tites work for you?
