Anyone used this for back and sides... have seen some nice flamed with sapwood sets available in Europe so was wondering what this is like tonally - know it will be difficult to work given its density, but looks quite spectatcular.

Frank I've never used it for B & Sides ,but for fingerboards & bindings.
It's heavy ,dense wood.
Works great and looks fantastic under a finish.

Mike

I like it a lot, but haven't used it for guitars. Same genus as pau rosa.

I have FB and bridge blanks resawed from oversized turning blocks, they have a really nice ring. Like pau-rosa it's a dense, heavy wood.
