I agree with most of the rest. I like a small sap stripe in the center but # 1 looks better to me unless you reduced the sap width. So it's a toss up between the #1 or #2 with the sap much reduced.
Also that black spot doesn't bother me the in the least. It is wood after all.

Definitely number one. Two looks so sedate in comparison, plus, there's that whole gost/mother mary thing in one.

Another fan of sap wood in the center votes for #1. I'm also wondering what #1 would look like flipped upper for lower? Either way, nice wood [:Y:]

Another vote for #1. Much more interesting, but it also is more typical. I'd also like to see some alternatives.

I don't see a ghost, but i do see a sheep skull.

Number two looks like it has the infamous fossilized something you'd get from a walrus.... Sorry, i call 'em as i see 'em.

I like the layout on #2 best. #1 is nice too, but I would flip it to make it look heavier at the bottom.

Ok then final score is:

20 votes for nr.1
4 votes for nr.2

So I´ll make it nr.1 then !! [:Y:] [:Y:] [clap]

Thank you all for helping. and I shure will post photos of the progress.
I will check on turning it around aswell , to let the lower bout get the more heavier look, and see how that looks. !

Lars.

Lars.

Please for give me for being to critical here but in the future I would not pre shape my braces before installing. I tried this and even trying to find a nominal point that I could pre scallop to and still leave enough to tune with tuned out to be a pointless waist of time. Each piece of brace wood is different and until you have it on the specific top you are working with your are just spitting in the wind.

Tony mentioned recutting the center line to give more choices. One way I have found to visualize this without actually cutting the wood is to place a mirror at 90 degrees on one half of the back. The reflection will give the other half of the "book match" You can move the location of the mirror to see different "cut" lines. when you find one that appeals to you you can mark it and cut both halves to the line.

Lars, I also say # 1 but I would rotate it 180* so that the large dark patch was at the tail (or bottom) of the body.
