well, i think im about done with the box. its bound and im mostly happy with fit of all of the parts. im still undecided on a neck joint, but ill get there soon. anyways, the guitar is modest and the pictures are crummy, but here is a look at what ive done so far. carpathian spruce top, peruvian walnut back and sides, and mac ebony trim. no purfling anywhere, except in the rosette which is pink paua heart.

Very nice, that is going to look even greater under finish. I especially like the bound sound hole. I might have to try that.

Heath,
I've been looking at your butt inlay (man, only guitar builders can say that to one another) and am quite impressed. Very tight joints, very clean work. It all looks great, and as has been said, under finish that thing will be superb. Be sure and treat us to some finish shots.

Steve

yep .. what everyone else said .. looks very clean, with understated natural beauty and lines ... nice design ethic IMO.

Very good work Heath ! I like your "no purfs" design, and I think the rosette looks excellent!
It's going to be a real beauty! What kind of finish are you using ?

steve, coming from someone whose work i totally admire, those words are quite flattering. ive tried my best to not be satisfied with less than precise work and so far it is paying off. i figure, aim high and youre bound to come close. thank you so much for commenting. there will defintely be some shots of the finished work when that day comes.

tony, again, someone whose work i appreciate. thank you so much.

dave, im not officially decided on a finish, but it will more than likely be french polished shelac. i have quite a few friends that play at local venues from time to time and i would like to feel comfortable enough with the finish that im not going to freak out everytime one of them sweats on it on stage (thats assuming my first guitar sounds and looks decent enough to be displayed in a crowd). that being said, i know shelac isnt the best choice, but ive blown most of my budget so far and both the tools and materials required to shoot something like nitro might not be an option right now.
