I have been waiting for the version 2 of Peterson strobosoft for quite a while as it was to contain a tap tuning feature. I have been interested is getting a strobe tuner for intonation adjustment, and the addition of the tap tuning feature to me is a plus. I am not sure if this tap tuning feature will make a lot of difference in the sound of a guitar but my addiction to high tech toys has been satisfied.

At $99.00 for a download I went for it and am quite impressed with the program though I am still learning its use. The set up on my HP laptop was quite simple except you have to jump through a few hoops to get it registered, and I had to get the mic on my laptop working, I somehow blew it away using my H2 digital recorder through the usb port as a stereo mike. For intonation or general guitar tuning I think that the peterson clip on piezo sensor will be better than the mike.

Fred my friend congrats on the new Strobosoft software. I have the older version and it works well.

Let me know how the clip does - I have thought that it would be better than a mic too. Also, I am not sure, but the clip might have a 1/4" jack and if so you and I will need a converter but no biggie.

BTW I was never able to make a mic work with tap tuning with the older version and man did I try for hours too..... gaah
