Many of you might remember our friend Jason Voth!
He was one of the very early sponsors here at the OLF and one that helped get us up and running!
He has been off doing other things the past few years but is now back with some of the nicest Western Red Cedar tops you will find! As well as other products!
Ill let Jason fill you all in! In the mean time, Welcome back Jason & CV Tonewoods!

The official Welcome Back Jason! [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap]

Some of you might remember that Jason and I live pretty close to each other and I'm privileged to be able to go and visit Jason and his folks at the shop. 2 years ago I posted a CV Tonewood shop visit and this will help show how big their operation is and what they do.

There Cedar and big leaf maple are top grade stuff so if you're looking for some great Western Red Cedar and Big Leaf curly maple, give Jason a call, he'll do set you up right.

Again, welcome back Jay! [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap]

Their wood absolutely Rocks. They get some fantastic curly maple, the best I've seen, and their cedar is also very very good.

I should quote this on my website ;) Don I never heard back from you? I did email you back..

And speaking of our products.. I will be putting together a sale for you guys. I've got a pile of really nice cedar and maple I've been pulling for the last 8-10 months from our factory orders. I'll also start putting some of my one offs and special items on the classifieds in the new future.

Well.. I need to get back to the shop. Gotta go wrap and strap some export pallets.

I'll be back after work to reintroduce myself to the new members. I'm amazed and excited by the growth of the forum over the last few years.. And I'll also put together all the details and prices on the set sale.

Hey Jason,
Welcome back. I still remember meeting Jason, for the first time at Healdsburg in 05. He and his brother drove down with a truck load of wood. A bunch of us builders went to the parking lot, all the time looking paranoid and looking over our shoulders, as we pulled set after GORGEOUS set of Big Leaf out of his truck. I felt like we were making a drug deal. It was a hoot laughing6-hehe

That LP guitar I made from your outrageous curly maple has been really turning heads. Hope to see more as you get settled!

Tim, sounds like that would have been a great tailgate party :D

Ya, JJ's LP is killer indeed. I've been privileged to see it live.

Jay, I'll have to make a trip up to your place to show you and your folks the guitar I made from your material. I know you guys don't get a chance to see the end product very often. PM me your email so we can hook up.

Ok,
For those that don't know me/haven't met me, I'm Jason :D I've been around the OLF for a long time.. Bruce Dickey found me on eBay (I was selling acoustic sets to help pay my tuition) back when the OLF was just starting and brought me over.. I haven't been able to get away since. I've learned a lot since I've been here and even as a tonewood producer I'm able to say I've been able to refine my products as a result of some of the input I've recieved from the membership.

CVT is a family owned & operated company. My father started the company in.. 97 I believe. So we've been around for a while. We origionally started selling maple to a single client in Vancouver, Larrivee Guitars. Since then we've probably, at one point or another, had our products appear on an instrument by every major manufacturer using Maple and/or WRC in N. America. We are primarily a wholesale operation selling direct with clients throughout Canada & the US as well as China, Japan, Korea, Germany, the UK and Australia.. If you include retail sales there are quite a few countries to add to that list.

We got into the business producing figured maple and over the years expanded into Sitka, Engelmann, and Western Red Cedar. Currently we are producing Big Leaf figured Maple and WRC. We aren't currently producing (or planning on in the near future) any Spruce products, though that could change at any time..

Personally I love this business. I've tried to get away.. I went to University locally, worked construction in the Okanagan, and flew off to Alberta to try my luck in the oil patch.. At the end of it all I keep finding myself back on a saw. I'm working towards a few goals of my own now but plan on continuing with the family biz on some level indefinately. I'm actually really excited about taking the next step with our retail product offering and in the new year there will be a lot of additions to our offerings and a few changes with the way we operate in order to make things more efficient and hassle free on both ends.

As a way of re-introducing ourselves to the community I've arranged to make a special offer to all of you with a pretty nice discount on some REALLY nice wood.. Once these sets are gone the prices will be going back up so if your planning to use a maple B&S or WRC top in the future it might be a good time to save some money.

Over the next few months I'm hoping to get a fully functioning retail page up & running with automatic online payment but for the time being you'll just want to email me. Contacting me directly is the fastest.

I'll be posting the OLF sale in another thread later this evening.

Anyways, thanks for the great welcome back.. We're happy to be here again.

-Jason Voth-
jason @ (cvtinc website) - <- sorry for this.. I hate getting garbage in my mail and it's a relatively new email address [xx(]
