Anyone have hands on experience with Harley Benton guitars? I don't expect very much at these prices but I have a customer considering one of these and then swapping electronics......

I hear good things, but one has never crossed my bench.

Amazingly cheap, and not bad looking! And three humbuckers! What’s not to like?

But what do you actually get? do I plan on a level and crown or a re-fret out of the box? Bet those humbuckers are singles under those covers....

The fact I have asked in a few forums where we hang out and not a single luthier or tech in the US has seen one gives me great pause. And the fact no European guys have chimed in on any of my threads makes me think these may be some of the prettiest garbage I may ever see.....

Never saw one or heard of them before either.

I'm wondering if these might be like the Epiphone's of the 60's and 70's. In many cases, the quality wasn't that far off from the regular Gibson line (just my experience). I think the quality went downhill when Gibson felt the Epi's were too much competition. While I see Brian's point, It could also be that they are good 'out of the box' and don't need much service. Hard to tell without having one in my hands. For that price, I wouldn't be responsible to recommend one to a customer, but I wouldn't mind giving one a shot myself.
