Sorry, Shoeless Joe's is probably my fault. My wife and I have a bad habit of finding a good place to eat and it closes within a matter of months.

As far as the Association, I'm certainly not the best one to be leading a bunch of guys that have way more talent than I hope to ever have. I'd help support it, and do what I could to keep it running.

My thoughts on it would be a monthly (or whenever worked) thing that probably involved some sort of food event. Even if it was just snacks in a garage or shop. A member would do a 5 minute presentation on a tip or trick or process they'd used. Then time to Ohh and Ahh over whatever latest creations had been brought. Very informal. Maybe do a Facebook page just to have a common place to stay in touch and show off the latest projects?

Thoughts guys?

Holy crap!! What did they use for finish on these old Teiscos? I've had Citristrip on it for over four hours and there isn't so much as a bubble. The face had quite a bit of crazing, so I assumed it was probably nitro. Is 45 year old nitro that hard?

Allan - probably not the original finish. Probably something like Imron or other 2 part plastic finish from the 80's. Have you tried straight lacquer thinner?

I've just decided to get the DA out and sand it smooth. I intend to put a color on it anyway. I just thought it would be interesting to see what wood is under it. Not so much now.
