Nice upgrades to a seemingly 'boring' and basic guitar. Can't wait to see the end result (considering I have three of your guitars to date!).

Very good - I really like these guitars. They are not for everyone but they do have a distinct personality. I get to play a bit with an alter-ego. Insert mad scientist laugh here- Catch you later B.

Isn't that the way. It's obvious that there are so many styles of guitar because of personal preferences. Some guitars just 'speak' to some of us more than others (viz., the JEM coming my way!). I think the key is to find the guitar that 'speaks' to a person (visually... feel... tone), and then to customize and personalize it so that it becomes much more than what typically can be experienced in 'stock' models.

Once again, I have a short update on this personal project.
What I've decided to try out is to add some mass to the portion of the bridge that the strings attach to in an attempt to increase the mass at the plate and allow a bit more sustain and a bit of enhanced tone. The top plate is in the process of being etched and re-chromed as my prototype. Here in about a week, I should have all the parts in my shop and ready for the real test.

In addition, I expect to have the custom P90's from Sublime Pickups in the next week or so. Once they arrive, I'll do the installation and detail that portion of the test. Once again, this is all detailed in my blog. For more info check out - http://wp.me/p2IaxD-al
