So, I bought this koa set for a Weissenborn acoustic,
and decided to use spruce for the top instead.
That one is long since finished.
Anyway, I did glue and rough shape the braces for the top,
and the braces should be shaved down, if'n it was going to be for an acoustic.
It's been sitting around for about 5 years now,
and a coupla weeks ago I put it in my go bar deck to get it back into shape.
My idea is,
to make a thinline Weiss style,
about 1 3/4" thick,
the sides being bandsawn, and about 1/2" thick,
back would be Taz blackwood,
sides lyptus,
the rest of the woods unsure as yet.
Furthermore, what my idea is,
to have the top and back hang over the sides an 1/8",
round the top and bottom of each,
and have it look kind of like a violin.
I have a Baggs saddle pup,
and would use that,
and also cut in a single coil pick-up,
and have a stereo set up,
with 1 vol for the single coil.
Whadya think?

[/img]I've done overhangs a few times and like the look. The purfling on the guitar is a little muddy. If the back is stuck on with HHG, removal is a breeze. Both instruments are about 3 years old and the edges haven't suffered too much.

I can't quite manage uploading mandolin images.

Hi all.
I've been working on this thing,
and I think it will be cool.
Had a bunch of stuff get in the way,
setting up a shopspace, work, dealing with posesions, etc.
Anyway, been taking pics of the process.
